Brookside Soccer in Toronto's Morningside Heights by Jas Jagpal

Season 1 was a great learning experience.  Season 2 was a lot of fun.  Season 3 – I’m hoping the new groupings will make it a blast.

Brookside Soccer was just a seed of an idea in Jas Jagpal’s head… With the help of a few friends, trusting neighbours, Jas Jagpal made it a reality in the summer of 2009.  Jas won’t tell you the amount of work and personal financing it took to start Season 1.  He’s just glad that kids enjoyed it and the community has grown to accept Brookside Soccer as part of the fabric of Morningside Heights.

In Season 2, Jas further made many sacrifices-  missing weddings, his son’s academy soccer games, family vocation, to keep his commitment to the kids.  The FUN DAY was full of fun activities, (tug-a-war , dodge-ball and bean bag races, face painting were a hit). Parents and kids enjoyed the food and trophies, with parents snapping many pictures and videos of their children having fun and we’re glad we can help create those lasting childhood memories.

We are looking forward to another successful and Fun SEASON 3.

This year we’d like more parents to participate, network, volunteer their time, help with raising sponsorship money, prizes, etc. to make this experience an even better one for their children and student volunteers.  We had over 60 kids join the first season and over 70 kids in Season 2.  We’ve made changes to the program for Season 3 to accept kids from ages 4-10 .  We’re expecting to fill up fast as we are only taking in 50 kids this year.   As of  April 13th update we have already about 20 registration.  If you are interested you should sign up ASAP.

So welcome to the new faces who will be joining us and the many more who are returning back.  Let’s go out there and have FUN!

Parents – Thank you for your confidence and support.  Your children will remember your dedication to wake up Saturday mornings to take them to soccer during the summers.  I’m looking forward to talking to you all during the summer.
